Medieval Market in Braunschweig

Saturday morning, Rolf and I went to the medieval market in the main square in Braunschweig.  It's kind of like a Renaissance Festival, in that lots of people dress up in costume, sell traditional (and some non-traditional) jewelry, soap, leather stuff, pottery, and food.  There was also live music, sword fighting demonstrations, pottery making, and wood carving.

After the market, I went to the airport to pick up my friend Derek.  We studied together in Lüneburg 3 years ago and he wanted to visit Germany again.  Since then, we've just been exploring Braunschweig and are leaving this afternoon to visit Ginny in Rheda-Wiedenbrück.
