With just three more days till I fly home, I'm scrambling to get everything cleaned, washed, and packed before Wednesday. Let's just hope the weather cooperates.
This was a really fun last weekend in Braunschweig. Friday night was game night at church in Peine, so I got to play Catan, Apples to Apples, Catch Phrase, and Sequence. It was also fun to play games with a German/English mix.

Saturday night was Gesa's housewarming Party. It was really good to hang out with the teaching crowd again. After the party was over, I still had to take 2 different buses to get back to my apartment, and the public transportation here has been
terrible because of the snow. I had had such bad luck with the buses and trains the past few days I was ready to break down and cry if I had anymore problems. When I was walking to the bus stop, I also remember thinking how much I hate waiting in the dark, by myself for the bus to come. When I rounded the corner and saw the bus stop, there was an older couple already there, which I thought was kinda strange cause there usually aren't that many people out in this neighborhood late at night. We waited for 10 minutes . . . no bus. I asked the lady if we had missed it, she said they had been waiting there a while and the bus probably wasn't coming anymore (ie i would miss my connecting bus). Her husband jokingly said, "We should take a Taxi, but they never drive this way." Suddenly, an empty taxi drove around the corner, the man raised his arm, and the taxi stopped at the bus stop! They got in the taxi, looked at me, and asked "Where do you need to go?" I told them I needed to catch a bus at the Rathaus. "Hop in!" they said. "We'll drop you off." So, basically God sent me this wonderful old couple who payed for me to ride in a taxi to the Rathaus. I jumped out of the taxi, ran, and hopped on my bus which promptly pulled out of the station. God is so awesome!
Today is the 4th Advent Sunday. I got up and went to church in Peine and then was invited to lunch at someone's house. This couple is so sweet - Petra is from Germany and Widjaja is from Indonesia. He made Indonesian food for lunch and it was delicious!!
