Here are the answers to yesterday's little quiz on how well you speak Australian English. I will confess, that I did not know many of them before I read the article. FYI - spoken Australian English is known as "Strine."

- fair dinkum - the real thing, honest, true
- fair go - give something a try or give a person a chance
- footy - football
- g’day - typical Australian greeting
- mate - friend
- no worries - used when something is not a problem
- Oz - Australia
- Pom - an English person
- scull - to drink an entire glass of beer in one go
- servo - gas station
- smoko - a short break from work
- tucker - food, anything edible
- wag - not to go to school or work so you can do something more fun
