Now that we've started a new semester in Germany, the topic of choice is no longer the American South/The African American Experience. We have gone "down under" and will be talking about Australia for the rest of the year. Unfortunately for me, I have never been to Australia and know very little about it, so I will probably learn just as much as my students. In my eleventh grade class, we will be reading Australian Short Stories, some from the white perspective and some from the aboriginal perspective. I'll let you know how they like them! Today we tried to give them an introduction to Australia and my task was, of course, a language activity. Let's see how well you speak Australian (Answers will follow tomorrow).
