Interesting Discovery

This article popped up on my homepage today.  When I was there, no one mentioned anything about the campaign to save it from decay.

The article goes on to say the most of the buildings left at the Birkenau camp are not available to visitors because there are basically going to crumble at any minute and also that the famous  "Arbeit Macht Frei" sign was stolen in 2009, cut into pieces, and almost sold to a collector!  They definitely didn't tell anyone anything about that on my tour.
